Elizabeth grew up on her family’s farm in Montana, where she was surrounded by and cared for a variety of animals, including horses, cats, birds, and even a salamander. Growing up in this environment sparked her passion for veterinary medicine and inspired her to pursue a career that combines her love for animals with her interests in science and medicine. After earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University, Elizabeth completed a year-long rotating internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky. One of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary medicine is caring for critically ill or injured patients, supporting them throughout their recovery, and seeing them return to the activities they and their humans enjoy. She has a particular interest in equine orthopedics and plans to pursue a surgical residency.
Outside of the hospital, Elizabeth enjoys reading, painting, horseback riding, and traveling. Veterinary medicine is also a family passion – her sister, Emily, is currently attending Washington State University, with plans to pursue a career in small animal surgery.
