About Amelia

Amelia is a small animal surgery resident at Colorado State University. She grew up in a small town in southeastern Wisconsin alongside her beloved Labrador retrievers and horses. Her passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age through her involvement in competitive horseback riding, and her passion for surgery developed while working alongside a board-certified small animal surgeon during high school. She earned her Bachelor of Science in animal science with an Equine emphasis from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Florida before beginning her surgical residency at CSU. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog, Kodi. Amelia's professional and research interests include orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and pain management, with a particular passion for working dogs.
