About Allison

Dr. Vilander is an Assistant Professor in the Department of the Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology. Her laboratory studies the probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus acidophilus as an oral vaccine vector and pre- and probiotic influences on the development of the mucosal immune system. She also works and performs research in the field of veterinary diagnostic pathology.
